Output amperage - maximum current at 5V gpio is 2.5A and at VSYS output 2.1A, but also this depends heavily on battery capacity. For BP7X have measured around 1.1A at 5V GPIO and around 1.6A at VSYS output. Obviously, this also depends heavily on the current draw demanded by the Raspberry Pi/device itself. To achieve a maximum of 2.5A it will need battery over 3500mAh.

With PiJuice we want to provide not only the best portable hardware/software solution, but also a set of inspiring and affordable guided projects for fun and learning in the real world.
I had to wait a while for this to get back in stock. It was worth the wait. This compact hat fits perfectly and extends the gpio pins. I had previously tried a different battery solution and it was nothing but trouble. This one works. One caveat, I had set up an off/on button following code at howchoo.com - I had to undo that before I could communicate with the battery. No problem, as this has a power button it isn't needed anymore. I also purchased the 5000 mah battery from PiSupply and now I have a home-built portable computer that truly works. Run-time is at least several hours (need to do a real test) with the 7" touchscreen and a Samsung SSD drive, much more if I turn down the screen brightness. Get this one, it works!
The shipment arrived quickly, Canada post did not offer tracking.
The hat fit on the raspberry pi 3B+ with no issues.
The software installation was a bit trouble some because of not understanding the order of operations.
But once all was configured it worked well.
The project is still waiting on parts so the final installation has not been done.
