With funky colours and a clever modular approach to electronics, this kit certainly fits the "small is beautiful" category. My 10-year-old son wanted this for Christmas, principally because you can connect via the wireless network facility to a functional block in Minecraft which connects to redstone "wiring", ie: press the real button and detonate some TNT in your virtual world! He had no problem getting it going: the instructions are good, everything worked correctly so lots of things got blown up! The only issue we did need to resolve was due to our domestic pc network arrangements. The wireless set-up couldn't just connect to the router, it required the pc to be wireless, which it wasn't, using instead the ethernet connection. So we ended up buying a nice wireless card for the pc, which the littleBits found easily. A minor note is that it is definitely advisable (as per instructions) to use the rear USB for power as it needs all the juice it can get for wireless operation. Or just use the separate power supply....now I need to encourage him to try making something else...
