Energenie have developed the Pi-mote control board to offer users of Raspberry Pi a low cost home control and automation solution. The Pi-mote control is an add on board that permits control of 433mHz radio controlled electrical sockets. Easy to install and command, the product provides a simple and safe way to add control of mains powered devices and appliances to your Raspberry Pi. The best-selling Energenie remote control sockets are now available with a controller board for your Raspberry Pi. Whether you are a Raspberry Pi newcomer, hacker, or Python sage you will be able to control your electrical sockets within a range of up to 30 metres, through doors, walls and ceilings. There is also some Python code, which enables simple on-off control of the sockets, to get you going out of the box. This product is only the RF board for attaching to your Raspberry Pi, but we also sell a starter pack with two 13 Amp electrical sockets for use in standard UK 3-pin mains sockets (or elsewhere with a plug adapter socket) as well as a kit with a 4-way extension lead. Energenie make a range of other compatible sockets which can also be operated by Pi-mote control. If you already own Energenie sockets, these are backwards compatible with Pi-mote Control.
