Please use a power supply compatible with the specifications from the picture on the side. Check this page for additional information to help you choose the right power supply.
Note that when power is provided to the Amp the Raspberry Pi is back powered and doesn’t require power through the micro USB connector.
Section 2 – Case Assembly
The JustBoom Amp HAT case is the perfect enclosure for the JustBoom Amp HAT and the Raspberry Pi.
Step 1 – After removing the protective film exercise a gentle outward lift at the base of the top part of the case as indicated by the arrows in the picture opposite.
This should allow you to detach the top cover from the bottom of the case.
Within the case you will find 4 rubber feet. Here is how it will look like once opened.
Step 2 – To install the rubber feet on the bottom part of the case you will either have to push and twist them through one of the 4 the holes or help yourself with a small screwdriver to tuck in the top part of the feet within the hole as shown on the left. Be careful not to cut through the feet and rather than using the tip of the screwdriver use the flat surface to push the head of rubber foot in.
Before we get to the next step, if you are using anything other than a Raspberry Pi 4B then you will need to push the cut outs where the HDMI connector is. You can push these out with a pointed object.
Step 3 – Once the feet are in position take the Raspberry Pi with the JustBoom Amp HAT and slide it into the bottom part of the case with the USB and Ethernet side going in first as shown in the picture.
Step 4 – Let it rotate until the PCB of the two boards are aligned with the grooves within the case.
Step 5 – Slide the top part of the case on the bottom one as shown here.
Step 6 – As the top part slides on you will notice that it is hindered by the Raspberry Pi speaker connector. Simply lift gently that side of the top part of the case to allow it to go over and finally get into position.
Step 7 – Make sure that all the sides of the case are fitting nicely together by exercising some pressure all around.
Step 8 – Your JustBoom is now ready. Now you can move onto our OS tutorials section to learn how to acquire, install and configure your favourite Operating System.
