You will need the latest version of NOOBS/Raspbian to run on your Raspberry Pi 4.

Faster than ever!

The 1.5GHz 64-bit quad-core CPU on the Raspberry Pi 4's Cortex A72 SoC, coupled with the up to 4GB LPDDR4 RAM give performance comparable to entry-level x86 desktop PCs. This makes the Raspberry Pi 4 perfect for tasks like media centre usage and other intensive applications.

Another change is the switch to USB-C power which requires the new official Raspberry Pi USB-C power supply. We have versions for the UK, USA, EU and AUS.

Faster transfer speeds

The Pi 4 now has two USB 3.0 ports. This increase means transfer speeds are 10x faster. The other two ports are USB 2.0 which are ideal for peripherals such as the Official Raspberry Pi Mouse and Keyboard.

Another change you'll notice is the ethernet jack has moved position and is now a gigabit ethernet port. Connect the

Raspberry Pi PoE HAT or the Pi PoE Switch HAT to reduce the number of cables you need to provide power and stable data to the Raspberry Pi 4.

2 x micro-HDMI ports

The Pi 4 now boasts two micro-HDMI ports, supporting up to 4Kp60, to use your Raspberry Pi 4 with much larger displays. Perfect for digital signage applications such as Screenly or working on different things simultaneously.

BLE 5 and wireless LAN

Bluetooth 5 is a serious upgrade to the Raspberry Pi 4 with not only range, but power efficiency too. You get double the speed and at least four times the range compared to the older Raspberry Pi boards.

There's dual-band 802.11 b/g/n/ac wireless LAN quick wireless networking with less interference and better reception.
